Description
Tony Fowkes outside his London NW10 garage businesswith his Mk 1 Escort twin cam. In 1975 he finished 3rd o/a on the RAC rally and went on to compete at WRC level on Safari and Potuguese rallies. Probably best known for finishing 2nd o/a on the 1977 London to Sydney Marathon in a works Mercedes 280E. He also competed on 5 Paris – Dakars, two of which were on bikes.
